Green Power Choices

IMEA is transitioning our generation to a cleaner, more diverse portfolio in a responsible fashion while ensuring reliable supply and providing stable costs to our members.

As we transition our resource portfolio to a lower-carbon future, IMEA has created Green Power Choices, a renewable energy credits program to help municipal retail customers and member municipalities reach their individual environmental goals.

The Green Power Choices Program is a simple and affordable way to certify your electric use as “Green Energy” using Renewable Energy Credits, or “RECs.”  RECs are created when renewable generation sources, such as wind and solar, generate energy onto the electrical grid. This opt-in program is customizable to fit your renewable energy goals, reduce your carbon footprint and help to  combat climate change.
