ELECTRIC SUPERINTENDENT

The City of Peru Electric Department, a municipal utility located in north-central Illinois, is accepting resumes from qualified individuals for the position of Electric Superintendent.  This position is responsible for the electric distribution and generation operations including safety, planning, maintenance and project coordination and implementation of budgetary electric operation goals.  The Superintendent will report to the Mayor and Electric Committee and must have substantial knowledge of hydroelectric generation, oil fired generation, electrical distribution systems, substation operations, general operations and computer operations.  Applicant must be knowledgeable of state and national electrical codes and have the ability to produce and read plans and blueprints.  Peru serves 6,000+ electric customers 55 MW peak load, 40 MW of generation and operates a very modern 7970/13800 volt distribution system.  Looking for a candidate with vision and management skills to lead a team.  The City of Peru offers an excellent benefit package with salary range $100,000 - $110,000 based on qualifications.  Peru is a progressive city with green power and is a great place to live with a low cost of living.  City residence required within six months of hire.

GAS OPERATOR

The village of Divernon is accepting resumes for a Gas Operator within the Public Works Department. Candidates must possess knowledge of Federal Pipeline Safety Regulations and have a minimum of two years experience in a municipal gas operation. Person in this position will be responsible for servicing all lines, installing and servicing meters and regulators, meter reading, conducting all required tests and surveys, making all inspections, keeping all required records, attending required training, meetings and preparing all required reports. Position will report to the Public Works Superintendent. Minimum starting salary $35,000. Benefits include health insurance, IMRF retirement, vacation, sick and personal days.
